I will say this as a Linux SysAdmin:
Use what makes you feel comfortable.
Humans are not 100% altruistic and every thing we use will have flaws.
If you can switch, cool!
If not, that should be okay, too!
Nobody should make the user feel less than because they don't run what someone else runs.
I'm glad I know how to and have the ability to run Linux with little issue.
The same with Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS.
Let's stop shaming the end user.
