Here's a complaint I've submitted to the ABC
In this report and many others, the ABC follows the widespread media practice of writing a story based on a report produced by another organisation and providing no link to that report Instead, the story contains links to other ABC stories.
As a commercial practise, this "walled garden" approach is designed to encourage users to stay on the site as long as possible, at the cost of providing less valuable information. For the ABC to follow this model represents a breach of the Charter obligation to "ensure that the functions of the Corporation are performed efficiently and with the maximum benefit to the people of Australia".
