Today, in my workshop, I am attempting to rescue a Windows 10 installation on a failing 2TB hard drive with 5 bad sectors. Should be doable, but the drive is super slow from within Windows.
I am trying to get to a place where I can run chkdsk on it (may have to boot from a Windows USB drive), then I'll be using CloneZilla to make an image of it for backup, the gparted to shrink the partitions and clone to a smaller SSD.
It is in a Dell Optiplex 990.
