I finally beat Tenchu: Fatal Shadows or more accurately got to the final boss and didn't care enough. Its a very good FromSoft stealth game but it keeps shoehorning in combat that simply isn't fun and contradicts the core gameplay that is fun.
Also the surprise twist is that the guy that burned down your village is the fiancé of your ninjette. However, he appears to have an effeminate kabuki boyfriend with a guitar/automatic rifle thing.
