There is a rumor that Joe Biden will cite health issues for stepping out of the election, and that because of his health, he is also stepping down as President.
It is only a rumor, BUT....
Hypothetically, if that did happen, Kamala Harris would be the 1st female President, since she would fill in the remaining of Joe Biden's term. Furthermore, it would be odd, since The Speak of The House would become Vice President (as outline in the Constitution). That would mean, Mike Johnson, would be Vice President, for the remainder of Joe Biden's term.
It would be further historical, since it has been over 100 years since a President and Vice President did not belong to the same party. It has been over 50 years, since a President has voluntarily resigned (the last to do so was President Nixon).
Do I think this will happen? I doubt it, but we have seen crazy the past few years, so.... But I doubt it.
