Re-tooting this for anyone who needs to read a (free) fic that's a hard-SF shaggy dog story and also a tribute to Arthur C. Clarke's "Tales from the White Hart".

I wrote it years ago as an exercise to prove Michael Swanwick's assertion that all SF stories need to achieve the right balance of dinosaurs and sodomy—this one has 110% of both!
