I was going to comment on Casa Mexico today - thanks for the reminder.
We picked up taco Tuesday yesterday. It makes the shrimp and fish tacos reasonable ($5.50).
Tortillas didn't hold up - they fell apart as soon as you tried to eat them. This is common with corn tortillas that are not fresh although this was a new experience from Casa Mexico. Those two were okay but not as all like we remembered them from before.
The chicken and pork tacos were flavourless. Just dry meat in an unstable tortilla. Even some jarred salsa would improve them.
That great hot green sauce they provide was great as usual but the little tub "popped" when we opened them so let's hope that was just fermentation.
It seems we agree. Not the same experience.
Now, they have expanded to Kanata and Preston, so maybe that's part of it as maybe the good kitchen staff are now in the new businesses.
