Everything. Why and how could God create a world like this, why is human life so much suffering and human societies so full of injustices, what are these apparent contradictions in the bible, what about our needs that are not addressed in the bible, etc. They debated these things for many centuries with an honesty that you would find very surprising if all you know about the Church is the attacks against the Church, and people should be more curious about what the Church theologians had to say about these things before embracing the views of their enemies, who usually hate God because Christianity condemns their degenerate dispositions.
It's actually weird that people have no insterest in the history of the Church when it's such an important aspect of the history of Europe, it's almost like everyone has been conditioned to only think about the Christian foundations of our countries as nothing but dark ages, crusades and inquisition, until democracy and gay sex was discovered and we were freed from their tyranny.
