I find the terminology 'dominant' misleading as it is misinterpreted as power-greedy and controlling, like e.g. holding back someone's autonomy. That's bullying, not dominance. It comes from a place of insecurity. True healthy 'dominance' is caring and taking responsibility for others, encouraging and supporting their own autonomy. E.g. a mother with a child.
