I've done several of those journeys myself alone in the dark.
And I always found myself alone afterwards. No one to share a hug or a thought. It was good but not so good.
When a ceremony like that is accomplished among people in the purpose of having that experience at night, there is a sense of communion and brotherhood. Because each on their own but altogether went through the mystical experience. And we can smile at the end and hug eachother and share our visions for our lives and our intertwined worlds.

Sometimes people see the same thing at night and share a common astral plane and they see the same entities and spirits.
