The Mochi is totally healing... he is not drooling as much as he was, his tongue not sticking out as much as it was, and no snot coming out of his nose at all.
About the only thing remaining is he is still over-cleaning himself, and it was kinda comical when he went to scratch a scabby wound on his ears, he yelled at himself... i dunno if you can imagine it, it was a defininite cat yell like he was having an opera with another male cat, as prelude to the scratch-fest.
i also have noticed through the night not hearing him actually doing the scratching as much, before it was quite frequent and i'd hear the rattle of the cupboard he hides in rattling from his motion, but last night almost not.
so i think that keeping him warm, keeping him inside, and keeping him fed, have really helped him, he's got good sleep, he's healing, and he is becoming more familiar with the space here now, like even right now, i took him into the bathroom to the human toilet training platform and right at this moment he is still sitting on it, cleaning himself, after i brought him a little treat to eat before leaving him there.
it surely must only be a matter of time before he puts 2 and 2 together and realises that he can do toilet there
i have been letting him outside in the daytime quite often, especially once the sun starts up around 9am... likely the sunshine is helping his scabs and scars from the time of many ticks heal up, and his fur dry out from his slobbering overcleaning
looks like another sunny day is coming, so i'll definitely be pushing him outside once the warm light starts to cover the nearby ground
the waves tho... are still amazing... every so often, maybe once every 10 minutes, the rumble is audible over the top of the sound of my computer's fan and my typing and the hum of the refrigerator
