I suspect there's interlocking feedback loops between personal and microbiomes, local flora and fauna, relatives with a certain amount of genetic diversity (but not too much), types of foods, preparation methods, and so forth that are predictive of general health; it isn't any one thing, but ***every*** thing contributing to "life stability", and it disappears on any scale larger than "local" or any level of integration short of "almost total"
