I started with Fortran 4, then 8080 assembly language and a little basic, When the IBM PC came out I hit the college and took the programming class. They talked to me a bit and then skipped me right past the basic programming class and put me into the advanced programming class which was Pascal with a little assembler. From then on, I always prefer to work in Pascal. Still do. If I can find my old disks and they can still be read I might be able to verify if those versions of Pascal, written for DOS, will run on FreeDOS properly. If they do, I'll put something out and provide a link.
