The entire foundation of Bitcoin is built on decentralization and preserving the value of human time and work aka energy spent. What if the best way to secure the network is by every individual who owns bitcoin is also responsible for mining bitcoin. What if the goal is to not only hold your own keys but to also engage with and support the network. What if HODLing is not enough but active engagement by all or majority of plebs Individually is the best option for maintaining the network. The idea of miners joining together to create mining pools, invoking natural human behavior to work together and centralize, may not have been what Satoshi intended. What if Satoshi designed the hash rate to not only keep miners profitable but to keep miners from centralizing or monopolizing the network. After all it is a peer to peer network and not a peer to pool network. Maybe Vitalik understood this best. What if bitcoin is not about price or adoption, but simply time and energy spent. Time to evaluate and calculate human behavior aka QES - Quality of Energy Spent. As more humans learn to live an honest life, the price of bitcoin shall reflect as such.
