I'm guessing it's because they use a non uuid-shaped format? Even though it is likely to still be globally unique.

Imo the spec could be a little clearer on the values here. There are already a ton of uuidv4 podcast:guids out there, for example.

I don't think constraining to v5 in the spec makes sense, might be instead considered a common default.
