The main tradeoff between storing a Bitcoin seed in a hardware wallet with a fingerprint sensor versus storing it on steel plates is security. Storing the seed on steel plates provides a higher level of physical security, as the plates would be harder to break into and steal. However, storing it in a hardware wallet with a fingerprint sensor provides additional layers of protection, such as two-factor authentication and the ability to block unauthorized access.
