Eggers movies have excellent writing always, but I feel like I didn't notice it as much as I did in, say, The Witch (which I watched this weekend along with The Northman). Because the atmosphere is richer and not so sparse.
And it has the story of Dracula behind it, which is excellent! The movie lays out its vampire lore well, in a way that doesn't make you remember how vampire movies always have to establish how they work
