Hopefully when bluesky hits its inevitable decline, the fediverse will be better prepared, maybe with a more actively-developed mastodon fork, maybe with an alternative platform like gotosocial, or something else entirely. I think we probably have a few years before bluesky really jumps the shark so there's some time to ponder and act.
