Going to take another run at this though... what character do we feel like went through the most emotional or psychological change? I feel like the rules of TOS and TNG were dead-set against that, while on the new shows anything goes. It just had me thinking about the role of big emotional change in the world of Trek. It was Michael and Saru who made me think of the question.
