To be fair, there's also been a lot of cost savings around optimizing the architecture and workloads, but at some point there's no way around the fact that cloud costs scale with you. We purchased the same chip generation machines we're running on GKE and licensed multi-year commercial support for Rancher RKE2 for much less than the cost of one year of our current GCP bill, an investment that will pay off for at least a few more years to come.
