Now obviously there will be a lot of power wrangling after the event, the left and centre will have to do something workable, so it won't be the most stable time for the french, but if the exit polls are to be believed at least the extreme right wing won't be controlling the republicans.
But France does know how to work that sort of thing, play it's advantage, and be obdurate in it's own interest against international pressure.
