the podcast came first but the donation segment came about soon afterwards. Prior to the podcast back in the daily source code days there was one DSC where Adam was breaking down and saying "there has to be a way to make money with this podcasting thing" but he had yet to figure it out. So it was on his mind when DSC was created but not yet implemented until after the Knighthood idea was invented.
