Ok #FreeBSD folk I need some advice. I have just updated my AMD laptop from a fully working 14.1-RELEASE to 14.2-RELEASE and discovered that the amdgpu driver doesn't work ( tty blank screen ) as it's built for 14.1 and won't be built against 14.2 until 14.1 EOL possiblly March 2025.
That's a long time to wait so as I've never used ports I was wondering am I safe enough to just get the ports master repo as per the FreeBSD docs and install the xf86-video-amdgpu port rather than wait that long to get my tty back ????
