It wasn't as difficult as I thought it might be. I definitely recommend it! This batch used tallow instead of lard and it's a nice firm consistency. The lard soap for the first batch is still soft when I squeeze the bar.
I'm not making my own laundry detergent because I heard that it could mess up the function of modern HE machines. I don't know if that's true or not.
