Negative emotions I always feel in the pit of my stomach. Positive, tend to feel higher up in the chest. Simple, "pure" emotions I can sometimes recognise. But, complex interactive ones, not so much. It doesn't help that I've developed an extensive ability to over-ride my emotions for rationality and that I've basically trained myself to feel that my emotions are not important, or worthy of relevance. A lifetime of essentially low self-esteem will do that.
