I am part of the first generation of Jews born in the US after World War II, after the holocaust. We were taught about it very young, perhaps too young, but the trauma to our elders was devastating.
Perhaps that’s why I have been watching my entire life as this rolls back around again and again. Humanity has not changed or learned enough … yet.
I have hope for the future - it is leavened with clear vision and spiced with salt and bitter herbs.
