/64 being the “smallest divisible size” ends up hurting home users more than it helps them.
While giving out /64s to everyone isn’t a problem (at least for now, anyways), it would be nice if there were more options to actually do something with your network beyond using it as one flat range.
I can divide IPv4 literally down to a single address and nothing will stop me, yet when I try to divide a /64 into two, so much software will just scream and pretend it can’t comprehend what i’m doing. This has to stop.
