Army ants don't have permanent nests. Their home is the bivouac, a living mass of ants that aggregates in the hollow of tree, or under a stone ledge. They only stay in one place for a week or two, then like a living carpet they're off again, terrorizing everything in the forest, capturing every arthropod and small creature they encounter to feed the always hungry larvae and workers, and so the queen can keep making more.
That's the whole "army" part of army ants.
