It was our tax dollars that paid the ATF bureaucrats to write that rule, our tax dollars that paid the ATF lawyers to defend it, our tax dollars that paid the judicial system to consider it. One giant circle jerk of wasted tax dollars. They'll probably get promoted for their efforts lol.
