As for Rome, you have your dates all wrong. The empire's borders peaked during Trajan's rule, which was during 98-117 AD. And what gave you the impression I was speaking of the HRE? I obviously am referring to Eastern Rome which outlasted the Western half of the empire and only fell on 1453. Do you take me for a Philistine? You've certainly exposed yourself as being one.
