Hey y’all. I’m straight up scared. The new Tennessee law banning drag is vague enough that a trans person could be arrested for being in a public space. The Arkansas law makes it just about impossible to safely use a public restroom. The Oklahoma bill prevents insurance from covering HRT for children AND ADULTS.
And here’s the thing. If I get in any situation for any of these bigoted laws, I’m going to a men’s holding cell and a men’s prison at worst.
And of course not just me. I’m fortunate to not live in these states, but I do business in and go see a doctor in Tennessee. My (admittedly terrifyingly right wing) uncle lives in Arkansas. I live in the South. My parents live in Mississippi. There may come a time that it is dangerous for me to visit my own parents. My sister lives in Memphis, it’s a potential danger to visit her.
