NASA demonstrated its new Deep Space Optical Communications experiment, sending an ultra-high-definition video from 31 million kilometers away via the Psyche mission. The transmission was a 15-second cat video using a flight laser transceiver at up to 267 megabits per second. This technology will allow missions to transmit data 10 to 100 times greater than current spacecraft radio transmission systems.
