This poll was very entertaining and enlightening to me. Even with a smallish sample size, it’s clear that the original meaning of “wonky” (i.e. nerdy, catering to wonks) is fading away, which agrees with my experience.

I think the word now means something closer to “not quite right”, “odd”, or “unusual”.

Merriam-Webster lists only that original meaning, but they clearly should expand their entry!
