Idle Thought: Watched the original Day of the Jackal from 1973 last night. It's was as good as ever, and IMHO much better than the remake, 1997's The Jackal.

The Jackal was fine as a '90s action flick, but Day of the Jackal was the superior, well acted thriller with Edward Fox and the always great Michael Lonsdale owning it.
