The statistics don't lie. On average, you live a longer, better life if you are fit than if you aren't. But our brains are hard-wired to get this wrong every time. One data point deviating from a statistical truth we don't like is enough to convince us that the truth is a lie.
The solution? Critical thinking. Don't believe things just because they feel good. If they feel good, they are *more* suspect than if they don't.
