Sorry it's taken me a bit to get back to you, I somehow missed your message. I believe the language has been clarified, but that was a holdover from the massive Twitter exodus. It wasn't meant to imply that saying someone is disabled isn't enough, it was more to hold back the flood of people randomly joining whatever instance they saw because they were leaving Twitter and didn't know anything about Mastodon.
