I have a /29 on my home FTTP, and run a few services. Ddos is never something I have worried about, after all what would they possibly gain? But technically you would want to block traffic before it hit your link. Difficult if you don't control the other end of it, but you may be able to introduce a proxy or two in a DC, to protect you by only forwarding legitimate requests - the trick is working out what is legitimate.
