I've been wanting to make a couple of new pairs of tongs for awhile now, but just recently got to it. I'm not much interested in blades, but I've been asked by several people for railroad spike knives and I figured it would be a good idea for gifts. I also made something to grasp hammer/axe eyes, which is basically a right angle needle nose pliers.

I made each of these with extra long reins, because I figured I'd be doing a lot of this stuff in my propane forge and a longer reach is convenient to avoid the singed arm hair from the "dragon's breath."

Parent stock was 1"×⅜" mild steel flat bar.
