“The Bell Riots are supposed to start in 12 days” in reality we are way worse off than the society described in that episode of Star Trek. In that episode, poor people were stuck in ghettoes, but in today’s America homeless encampments are just dispersed, and then people just die of exposure. Giving them a whole section of the city would actually be a massive improvement.
