NOT minimizing the impact here (it will be BAD) but there are weird election truths when considering a narrative about Democrats & progressivism:

- downballot Dems overperformed Harris everywhere, incl. the most progressive candidates
- R gains in congress typical for the cycle
- nation-wide support for local measures for pot, labor, abortion, environment
- Harris outperformed losing parties elsewhere in the world — who *all* lost
