I was catching up with my friend over the phone last night, and she was telling me about her Lent practices, cluing me in on what that’s all about.
Later, she asked me, "What do you think about Donald Trump?"
I was like, "Honestly, I have no idea... I don’t have the bandwidth, and I haven’t been paying attention." She confirmed that she’s in a similar place—she no longer has any idea what’s happening or what’s even true anymore.
Interestingly, as if something had been listening to my conversation, the algos served me a post today about someone else saying the same thing—basically, "What the hell is going on?"
Curious to hear your perspectives on what’s up in the field right now. Whatchu think about Donald Trump, also?
My friend has become quite the devout Christian after marrying a Christian man over a decade ago. She said she thinks Trump definitely seems to have changed after the assassination attempts, and from the few speeches she’s watched, he sounds a lot more honest and authentic. But, given how many undercurrents and layers of influence exist in politics, she’s unsure how much he could really do.
