I can hear my great uncle Angus now, he was at sea all his life, finishing up on a little job just before retiring captain on one of the Clyde ferries, can't remember which now, but he knew boats inside out. One of the problems today, in all orgs, is people not working their way up, just "managers" parachuted in, but with no experience of the particular job or place, Calmac is riddled with this nonsense now in the higher echelons. Real stink about it recently re hiring processes.
