This is classic abusive dark pattern bullshit, and it's infuriating that otherwise well-meaning people throw out their own values when it comes to computers. People blame the tech-bros for the enshittification but they keep buying and eating the shit they serve. There has to be some personal responsibility around computer use otherwise you end up with the men with machines enslaving you. You're putting on the chains voluntarily. Stop it.
