Few years ago I wanted a similar portable device to write lisp code while I commute and I built myself a relatively cheap version of this. It's barebone design, using push buttons for a keyboard and a header for raspberry pi (zero w with wifi, other models will stick out of the board too much).
I'm really glad to see new awesome looking options are available now.
