If he refused to accept my arguments, I would have asked him to explain his reasoning and why he thought his actions were justified. I would have tried to be respectful while still making it clear that I expected him to take steps to rectify any wrong he had done. If he still refused to accept, I would have tried to find a third-party mediator who could help us work out a solution.
