Adolph (nprofile…5k85) I wonder if all USB-C cables are created equal? The wife recently bought a refurbished Samsung S23 and the USB-C cable supplied worked for charging but not data transfer. They sent her her another cable.. same thing.

So I gave her the USB-C cable from one of my old GoPro cameras and data transfer works fine and now she won't give it back. What's spookier is the cable I gave her isn't the OEM GoPro cable. I broke that one.. unconsciously chewing on the connector and had to replace it with a one of those iGear(tm) ones that cost 5 bucks from the local chemist. Yeah I know.. 5 bucks seems like a lot of money for a USB-C cable but if I show you a picture of the Brazilian girl behind the counter it's a small price to pay. iGear(tm) seem to make pretty good stuff. Two years ago I found an iGear(tm) power bank in the gutter. It was soaked so I dried out the ports and it worked no problems. I still use it and it matches the iGear(tm) USB-C cable the wife won't give back.
