Nah, I'm a sub merger myself. We have containers these days that allow us to have multiple subtitles, multiple audio streams, even multiple video streams in one file, and arbitrary data (like JSON or Markdown or a thumbnail, whatever!) all in one file. I'm definitely all for doing that.

Not sure whether I really want to do the chapter marks myself though…
