Stop valorizing so called "peaceful" protests. We have to see it with suspicion, rather than putting them on pedestal.
Protests have to be disruptive & even better forceful, not public therapy sessions.
When we all live under systems of structural injustice & organized violence of State, talking about "peaceful" protest is privileged talk.
As to me, I am not that courageous (more closer to being a coward than someone who is brave), but I don't consider cowardice to be a virtue.
If others want to/do take the lead in making it forceful (as opposed to so called "peaceful"), distract state goons so they are more focused on you than those who are taking more risk during protest.
If we dont have the courage, if someone is willing to take the risk & lead, we should atleast make the enemy (State) goons weaker in that situation, with various tactics — distraction & confrontation, etc of State goons, so those who do take so called "non-peaceful" actions last longer & make the protest unignorable by ruling class. Not every protest has to be forceful, but if an injustice is not addressed beyond few attempts, being forceful is the right approach imo. The temperature has to be turned up in stages so everyone knows why the temperature is rising & ruling class knows people are not ignoring injustice. It goes without saying, State & its goons (incl goons in media aka "journalists" & talking heads) will attack any protest incl so called "peaceful" protest, even more so if its so called "non-peaceful"/"violent" protest, but that should be normalized as violence against people should take precedence over so called violence against "property" of privileged.
