one of the more interesting tables i found while researching a bit on sterilization of oil vehicles. these are highly thermoresistant spore-formers
i’ve seen people say “eh just autoclave the sealed vials” but i don’t believe that’s a good approach as it’s pretty much equivalent to dry heat aiui (the high thermal energy of pressurized water steam only works in direct contact)
hence for terminal sterilization i’ve settled on 3 hours at 140°C, which is a bit of a compromise because higher temperatures risk degrading the MCT oil and rubber stoppers. probably overkill, but at least i can be reasonably sure no significant quantities of microorganisms survive the procedure
