A thought experiment, I got it from Ayn Rand.
Let's say you are immortal.
You probably would not care about anything. Anything you may want to do, you could just as well do later.
Any game you play, you are guaranteed to win, at some point, given you have infinite time.
Would you then, value anything?
"Death makes values possible", I've read in the objectivism philosophy book and I think it is a valid point.
But of course, I'd love to live long, like anyone I guess.
And of course, working to extend life span, I think is great.
It's just that the true immortality, even if it was possible, which will probably never be anyway, probably would not be as fun as we'd think.
